Haseeb Hameed started his career at Lancashire, becoming the youngest player to score 1000 runs in a season -breaking Michael Atherton's record - the fifth-youngest to score 1000 in a season for the county and the first to score a hundred in each innings of the Roses match. This earnt him a call up to the England Test International Series against India, where he became the youngest England opener to make his Test debut, scoring two half centuries in that series. Current Indian captain Virat Kohli described Haseeb as a "future star" for his performances.
Haseeb currently plays for Nottinghamshire CCC and recently earnt a contract extension after an impressive season. In 2021, Haseeb hit centuries in both innings against Worcestershire in 635 deliveries - a new competition record for the County Championship. His fine early season form, coupled with a century for the County Select XI against India, led to an England recall for the Test Series against India.
